I’ve been playing around with a new painting app for the iPad and iPhone called Inspire Pro and I’m really digging it. It’s not quite as deep as other apps, but I like the “feel” of it. I still haven’t gotten in a good grove when it comes to drawing on my iPad, but I am seeing slight improvements as I muddle along.
I have yet to find the perfect iPad/iPhone drawing app. Currently, I use Inspire, Brushes and Sketchbook Pro – bouncing between the three apps depending on my mood. In a perfect world, I would be able to create one super app incorporating the best features of all three. Until then, I’ll keep plugging along as I get a better feel for digital painting.

Another attempt at doing a figure drawing on the iPad. This one seems to be the start of something, but this was as far as I got during the 20 minute pose. I just need to keep churning out drawings on the device.

Still don’t quite have the hang of drawing on the iPad. For this one, I ditched the stylus that I had been using and just used my fingers. I need way more practice drawing with this thing.

I still haven’t really gotten the hang of drawing on the iPad yet. One of the main reasons for this is that every time I sit down to draw, I have a strong desire to keep it old school. It’s going to take a lot of practice to get comfortable drawing on the iPad and lately I just want draw with pens and brushes.
